Call of Duty: World at War is being developed by Treyarch, the makers of other CoD titles such as Call of Duty: United Offensive, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, and Call of Duty 3. This new CoD game will be using the CoD4 game engine and will be set in WWII, but unlike all other games in the series, this is the first time they'll center it on the Pacific theater of war. 'Pie Seeker April/07' ColdBoot ColdBoot was elected the April/07 'Pie Seeker' of MEK.  He has been around for the last one and a half years contributing to MEK-EQ2 and to the Global MEK Community as a whole.  He is MEK's head programmer for our Web Site Development team, a Forum Red Name and TeamSpeak Admin, as well as a Father of three rug rats, and husband to a Lady.  When Xon left us high and dry, Coldboot steped up with his open source moisturization!. ColdBoot was nominated for April, because it was the month of his most recent accomplishment for MEK, the most recent Server Transfer.  It was the fifth server transfer sence our Web Site came into being and ColdBoot's second as Lead Programer of MEK. Over the last seven years, MEK has evolved, and re-invented itself time and time again, each new form better than the last.  As a community, we learn from the past, and better anticipate the future. For it is those MEKers whom are able to call themselves, ‘Pie Seeker’ stand as the columns our Virtual Empire is built on.  From henceforth, as commanded by a 10 YES, and 0 No Vote by the MEK Global Congress, members who contribute to the over all MEK Gaming Community, stand out in the forums, who have done great things in multiple chapters, added to the prestige that is MEK or defended, upheld, and enforced the standards set down by the MEK Manifesto are to be called ‘Pie Seekers’. The MEK Global Congress, charged by the Manifesto as the ruling body of the community is responsible for awarding this title, as they are charged with cross Chapter issues. This award is given out only once a month, to one person, and no one person shall receive it more than once a year.  Twelve Pie Seekers a year. And with that, the Global Congress quickly nominated and approved Lady Denuve of MEK-EQ2 to receive the first Title. Denuve was elected MEK's first 'Pie Seeker'.  She has been around for the last two years, making MEK a better community all the while.  She is as much a MEKer as TVA, myself or Tanz.  She has provided near 24/7 commitment to our community, both on the EQ2 and Global stages.  She's been there during ever hacker attack, server transfer, and downtimes. Denuve is a Server Admin and regularly takes up forum jobs most other Red Names like my self find tedious and confusing, like registration, forum creations, user group management, roster clean up and best of all, drama killer. About half a year ago, the MEK Chapter in the game Guild Wars, "Magmus Eternal Kingdom" was hijacked by a traitor who was exiled from MEK-SWG.  The pretender to the throne took over all power and demoted the existing leadership structure.  Following the coup, those who were still playing were ordered to leave the guild and an exodus followed, MEK ceased its operations in Guild Wars. I am pleased to announce that a few loyal MEKers who remained inside the 'Magmus Eternal Kingdom', have successfully overthrown the traitor, and completed his exile from the MEK Gaming Community.  Valrel of MEK-SWG, and his brother Borath Broadhand, have completed their coup to retake the Throne in the name of MEK, and effectively striped the Exile of all power, and removed him from our in-game roster entirely.  All in-game wealth, territory, and the home Island and Castle have all been recaptured.  The MEK Gaming Community commends Valrel's and his brother's efforts.  We now honor them as MEK Heroes, and welcome them into the club of MEK Chapter Leaders.  They have removed a scar that has haunted our community for far to long. Its been a long weekend, and an unforgettable one at that. MEK made a strong showing at this years SOE Fan Faire, and walked away even larger. From the family of Everquest games to the Matrix Online, all SOE MMOs were well represented by both devs and players. If any company knows how to throw a bash, its Sony. Below is one of MEK's fliers passed out at the Fan Faire, used to collect Dev signatures from most games, it shall be treasured by the network. Our first morning in Atlanta started off with a Developers Brunch in which MEK spent a few hours talking with EQ2 Developer Steven "Arathyn," asking what ever we wished, and getting great feed back. There were no shortages of familiar faces to finally meet in person. From EQ2 heros to SWG icons, all were on hand to answer burning questions. Every morning was another hang over, followed by a vow to "NEVER DRINK AGAIN," followed by some tums, downed with a morning shot of whiskey. Stumbling back to the hotel after another night of partying.... On hand were two famous Royal babes... As one of the largest guilds at the Faire, we were provided our own Guild Table for opening and closing ceremonies, appropriately located close to the front, next to the VIP and Dev tables... Some MEKers even day dreamed of one day becoming Devs themselves.... Devs, MEKers, and friends.... New recruit Rhizel won the right to help create a new quest for 'Everquest Online Adventures' for the Playstation 2. Any who play may find an NPC as part of that same quest bearing his game name. After serving as BFN's president, revolutionizing their Game Server Management and insuring it was well funded during his reign, TVA as he was known created MEK while playing Desert Combat, a mod for the game BF1942. Above is depicted ElDiablo, the second man, and first MEK tank is always a formidable force no matter what game he is playing RL or not. A wall of a man in RL, his brute force carries over into his gaming. These images are the first concept images for the MEK-BF comic strip in production by Jaefus. These concepts will lead to a monthly comic strip centered on the original three members to wear the MEK tag on the battlefields or WWII, Vietnam and the Middle East. And everyone knows me =). Soon we will be producing monthly comic strips for all chapters, switching back and forth between games. Some chapters will have regular strips, and there will be at least two strips released each month. I will be introducing Jaefus in MEK's various forums, as well introducing the newest team member on the MEK team who will be handling MEK-EQ2's monthly comic strip.
